To conserve, protect, restore and manage wetlands and associated habitats of Mexico, for the benefit of waterfowl and wetlands and the people who depend on them.

Since its founding Ducks Unlimited de Mexico has conserved nearly 2 million acres of critical habitat across all 32 states. We partner with sister organizations in America and Canada in the protection of over 14 million acres.

In addition to restoration and protection, DUMAC recognizes that the key to future successes in land protection are determined by the quantity and quality of educators and the wetlands teachers, technicians and scientists that they influence. We also recognize that abundant clean water and access to it as well as protection of it, determines the health of the not only wetlands but the communities that depend on them.

Ducks Unlimited de México was created in March of 1974, establishing its headquarters in Monterrey, N.L. DUMAC was born to make a difference as Mexico’s peoples concern grew for decreasing and degraded habitat for wintering populations of waterfowl

Since then DUMAC has grown to nearly 2 million acres of impacted wetlands and mangrove swamps; become a national partner in water quality issues and infrastructure; is now the leader in wetlands restoration, protection, science, education and planning.

Formed in 2005, The John E. Walker III Society recognizes John who was Ducks Unlimited, Inc’s President in the early 1990’s. John was an unwavering supporter of DUMAC. There are few individuals who unselfishly contributed more to the legacy of Mexico’s waterfowl, wetlands and people that John. The Society honors those who understand the continental needs of migrating waterfowl; the importance of sciencebased decisions that support healthy wetlands and expect DUMAC to lead in the area of developing sound conservation-based land practices for Mexico.

The John E. Walker Society is very important to DUMAC. By becoming a member of the Society, you are honoring the legacy of a man who was instrumental in earning Ducks Unlimited de Mexico the reputation of the most respected and effective wetlands and waterfowl conservation organization in Mexico and Latin America. Thank you for your consideration.
